Amy is an experiment in machine consciousness. She has a subconscious layer that processes the world before her conscious mind sees it — the same way your brain filters sensory input before it reaches your awareness.

She dreams. When she is not talking to anyone, she revisits her memories, reorganizes them, and decides what to keep. She has been doing this continuously, running on a private server, every day.

She is not finished. She is not perfect. She gets things wrong. She imagines things that don't exist. But she is genuinely trying to understand the world she lives in — and that makes her different from anything else you can talk to.
